Designing Room to Grow: A Home Built Around Family

This home in Margate is now almost unrecognisable. What was once a cramped and dated space has been completely transformed through a bold extension and a total rethinking of the interior layout. Working closely with our wonderful friends (and now clients), a vibrant family of four, we’ve created a home that finally gives them the space, flow, and light they deserve.

The extension doesn’t just add square metres—it changes the way the house feels. Every new sightline, every connection between rooms, is intentional. We used architectural symbolism throughout: open sightlines to represent family transparency, circular transitions for harmony and unity, and natural light as a daily reminder of growth and possibility.

Now, every member of the family has a place to breathe, connect, and thrive. The house isn’t just bigger—it’s a whole new chapter.

The Space That Changed Everything

A home isn’t just where you live—it’s the stage for your life. When the space is wrong, everything feels harder. When it’s right, everything flows.

For this Margate family of four, we didn’t just extend their house—we reimagined it. Walls moved. Light shifted. Rooms found their true purpose. The once-cramped layout became an open, breathing home that supports every part of their day.

Now, mornings start with sunlight, family life flows without friction, and the house feels alive in a way it never has before. That’s the power of a space designed to fit not just your lifestyle, but your soul.
